Youth Academy Program Overview

Our program fosters responsible citizenship, financial literacy, and leadership development within our community and is structured around three core pillars:

  1. Civics Education: Understanding the fundamentals of government, democracy, and civic responsibility.

  2. Life Skills and Financial Literacy: Equipping students with practical skills such as budgeting, home maintenance, and financial management.

  3. Social/Political Community Engagement: Empowering students to actively participate in their communities through voter registration, political campaign awareness, and leadership development.

Program Details

  • Free Enrollment: The Youth Academy program is completely free for selected students residing in Prince George's County.

  • Class Structure: We offer three eight-week classes per year, each accommodating 20 to 25 students. Our classes are designed to be interactive, engaging, and tailored to the needs of young adults in our community.

  • Eligibility: The program is open to Prince George's County residents aged [specific age range]. Students are selected based on their interest, commitment, and potential to benefit from our curriculum.

The 1911 United Inc. Youth Academy strives to make its program accessible to all eligible students in Prince George's County. However, the availability of our program may vary depending on funding availability. We are committed to seeking grants, sponsorships, and community support to ensure the continuation and expansion of our initiatives.
